I want to wish everyone a Happy and a Healthy New Year.
I am lucky in that I get two opportunities each year to examine my behaviour and look at what I would like to change about myself. I’m hoping that I will be able to make this a year of greater activity. Whether this means blogging more regularly, getting my volunteer readers into a school or exercising more regularly I’m planning to be up for the challenge.
The one thing I don’t seem to be able to do is to de-stink our shofar. It’s now on it’s third New Year in our home and our shofar blower does not want it near his mouth. I did the gravel treatment, the peroxide treatment and the gravel and peroxide treatment all to no affect. Suggestions, anyone?
In the spirit of my current frame of mind I’d like to share with you a beautiful violin arrangement of Jason Mraz’s song “I Won’t Give Up”.
Besides the message of not giving up I like how mellow and peaceful this song is. That would be my other wish for all of us this year, may the world be more peaceful with a marked lack of nuclear proliferation. May we treat one another with due respect and a tolerance of differences. Most of all I hope that no lives will be lost in the need to supress the rampant hatred that is fostered and encouraged in the environment of ignorance that exists in far too many countries at the moment.
