The other day my eldest son and I were talking about puctuation. Yes, really.
I was trying to convey the huge difference that puctuation can make to the meaning of a sentence.
He told me that he gets it. He said that there’s a poster in the English department office that goes something like this:
Let’s eat grandma.
Let’s eat, Grandma.
Punctuation, it’s a matter of life and death.
Ha! Succinctly put, point well made. Definitely deserving of a smile.
